IPL Fair Play Award Points Distribution Criteria

Now coming to the rules, then we have a total of 10 points that a team can get. They are divided into 4, 2, 2, and 2. IPL Fair Play Award Past Winners

The fair play award in the Indian Premier League was introduced in the very first season itself. The reason was to promote the spirit of the game and maintain a good and healthy environment inside the ground.

The following is the list of the teams that won the IPL fair play award from 2008 to 2020.

2008 – Chennai Super Kings

Although Rajasthan Royals won the actual tournament, CSK took the fair play award home for showing great sportsmanship throughout the tournament,

2009 – Kings XI Punjab (Now Punjab Kings)

The second IPL fair play award was won by the Punjab franchise. However, they have failed to win the award since then. Nevertheless, they are topping the fair play charts this year up till now and can grab the award for the second time this year.

2010 – Chennai Super Kings

You will see Chennai Super Kings six times in this list as they have proven to be the most disciplined side every now and then. Even after missing two IPL seasons, the MS Dhoni-led side is head and shoulders above any other team when it comes to this achievement.

2011 – Chennai Super Kings

2012 – Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals, for the first and last time, won the IPL fair play award in 2012. Currently, they are at the 2^nd spot in the IPL fair play award list 2021.

2013, 2014, 2015 – Chennai Super Kings

The Chennai Super Kings showed some exceptional spirit of the game on-field and won the fair play award three times consecutively from 2013 to 15.

2016 – Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers won the award for the first time in 2016. They also won their second one, a couple of years after.

2017 – Gujarat Lions

Gujarat Lions (Now discontinued) was declared as the winner of the fair play award in 2017.

2018 – Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians won their first fair play award in IPL in 2018. They were the winners of the award last year as well.

2019 – Sunrisers Hyderabad

The second last IPL fair play award was taken by the Hyderabadi franchise.

2020 – Mumbai Indians
