Came 2018, and they finished at the second spot in the group stage for the first time, but unfortunately, lost both the qualifier and the first eliminator in the playoffs. 2019 again saw them getting out of the tournament in eliminator 2.
Lastly, 2020, despite all of its chaos, was the year of Karachi Kings. KK finished at the 2nd spot in the group stage. Afterward, they defeated Multan Sultans in the super over of the 1st qualifier. In the end, they defeated their biggest rivals, Lahore Qalandars, in what turned out to be a one-sided final. KK won by 5 wickets, chasing a mere 135-run target. Babar Azam won the player of the tournament award for his sublime run-fest of 473 runs.
