Punjab Kings Team History
Punjab Kings do not really have a great history. They have qualified for the final only once in the 13 editions, and have played the playoffs only a single time as well. In the 2008 season of IPL, the Punjab Kings, then known as Kings XI Punjab, qualified for the playoffs, having finished the group stage as the 2nd best team. However, they were knocked out soon and took the bronze medal home.
Afterward, it was only downhill for them. They didn’t qualify for even the playoffs for five straight seasons. From 2009 to 2013, the Punjab Kings were eliminated in the group stage, and the fans were getting disappointed season after season.
